LIVEABOARD SAFETY
SAFETY ABOARD CORALIA LIVEABOARDS
At Coralia Liveaboards, the safety of our guests and crew is treated with the highest priority. Operating in remote regions of Indonesia requires preparation, discipline, and experience, and our approach to safety is built on prevention, redundancy, and clear communication.
Across the Coralia Liveaboards fleet, safety is not viewed as a checklist but as an integrated part of daily operations, crew training, and voyage planning. From weather assessment and route planning to onboard procedures and emergency readiness, every journey is managed to strict safety standards, ensuring a calm, secure, and well managed environment aboard both Coralia and Coralia Dua.
RECOGNISED FOR SAFETY EXCELLENCE
Coralia Liveaboards was awarded #1 for Level of Safety in Scuba Diving Magazine’s 2026 Readers Choice Awards. This recognition reflects the confidence of the diving community and reinforces our long standing commitment to operating safe, well managed liveaboard experiences across Indonesia.
While awards are never the goal, they serve as an independent acknowledgment of the standards we uphold every day, from crew training and operational planning to onboard procedures and emergency preparedness.
VESSEL AND ONBOARD SAFETY SYSTEMS
Our vessels are equipped with comprehensive modern safety systems designed to meet the demands of extended liveaboard operations. These systems are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure reliability and readiness.
Onboard safety features include life saving equipment, fire detection and suppression systems, emergency communications, and clearly marked evacuation routes.
CREW TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Safety aboard Coralia Liveaboards is supported by an experienced and well trained crew. Our teams are selected for their liveaboard experience and undergo ongoing training in safety procedures, emergency response, and guest care.
Clear roles and responsibilities are maintained at all times, ensuring coordinated responses and calm decision making should any situation arise.
SCUBA DIVING SAFETY
Scuba diving operations aboard Coralia Liveaboards are conducted with a strong emphasis on supervision, conservative planning, and clear procedures. All dives are led by certified dive guides and instructors with extensive experience in Indonesian waters, ensuring professional oversight both above and below the surface.
To maintain a high level of safety and individual attention, diving is organised in small groups, with a maximum of four guests per dive guide. This allows for careful monitoring of divers, clear communication underwater, and the flexibility to adapt dives to prevailing conditions and individual comfort levels.
Each buddy group is equipped with essential safety equipment, including a Nautilus Lifeline for surface communication and an SMB for controlled ascents and surface visibility. Throughout every dive, tenders remain on site and attentive, ready to assist divers at all times and ensuring immediate support if required.
These measures are part of Coralia Liveaboards’ broader commitment to creating a controlled, well managed diving environment that prioritises safety without compromising the quality of the diving experience.
